Ways We Share: The Northwestern Mutual Way

In 2007, Northwestern Mutual celebrated its 150^th anniversary. As part of the celebration, the Northwestern Mutual Foundation created the "Ways We Share" program. Northwestern Mutual Financial Network representatives voted on several national charities to receive $1.5 million. As a result of their interest, four nonprofits received significant grants from the Foundation:

• America's Second Harvest-The Nation's Food Bank ($500,150)
• Junior Achievement ($400,150)
• YMCA ($350,150)
• Goodwill Industries ($250,150)

These partnerships have been leveraged across America, allowing financial representatives and office staff to get involved with these groups, volunteering at the local level.
