Variable Executive Life

Offered through The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company

Variable Executive Life can be customized to meet your objectives. The death benefit and premium patterns can change over time, should you need to adjust your benefit to match evolving employee needs.

Based on the results of your invested net assets, the tax-deferred cash value will either increase or decrease and so may the death benefit. The cash value will fluctuate with market conditions and may be more or less than the original premium invested. Cash values are not guaranteed.

Variable Executive Life is a great option for providing a life insurance benefit to employees that offers an opportunity to direct net assets into a variety of investment options.

Choices for Premium Allocation

Twenty-four investment choices are available to you. Eighteen are from the Northwestern Mutual Series Fund, Inc., one is from the Fidelity VIP Portfolio and five are from the Russell Insurance Funds. Each comes with its own degree of risk.

Death Benefit

The specified amount of the death benefit is chosen by the policyowner at issue. The minimum amount is $50,000. Three death benefit options are available and can be changed after issue from time to time. For details on the differences between the types of benefits, contact a Northwestern Mutual Financial Network Representative.

Policy Loans

You may borrow from the cash value of your Variable Executive Life policy. Loans may be taken at a fixed 5% interest rate. The amount borrowed will not participate in market experience while the loan is outstanding.

The amount available for loan may be more or less than the total premiums paid. The amount of any outstanding policy indebtedness will reduce the death benefit paid.

Policy Withdrawals

You may withdraw money from the policy if it has sufficient cash value. A fee may be charged. The amount available for withdrawal may be more or less than the total premiums paid. Withdrawals will reduce the policy's cash value and death benefit. Policy withdrawals may be taken up to four times a year.

Nonforfeiture Options

The policy does not require that premiums be paid. On a monthly basis, the policy charges will be deducted from the cash value. If there are insufficient funds to pay for the month's expenses, you may make a premium payment to cover the deficiency, otherwise your policy will lapse.

You should carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, expenses and charges of the investment company before you invest. Your Northwestern Mutual Investment Services Registered Representative can provide you with a contract and fund prospectus that will contain the information noted above, and other important information that you should read carefully before you invest or send money.
