Stocks of smaller or newer companies, such as those held in this Fund, are more likely to realize more substantial growth as well as suffer more significant losses than larger or more established issuers. Investments in such companies can be both more volatile and more speculative. Investing in small company stocks involves a greater degree of risk than investing in medium or large company stocks. Their securities may also trade less frequently and in lower volumes, making market prices more volatile. |

Invests primarily in the common stock of companies whose value Fidelity Management & Research Company (FMR) believes is not fully recognized by the public. The types of companies in which the fund may invest include companies experiencing positive fundamental change such as a new management team or product launch; a significant cost-cutting initiative, a merger or acquisition, or a reduction in industry capacity that should lead to improved pricing; companies whose earnings potential has increased or is expected to increase more than generally perceived; companies that have enjoyed recent market popularity but which appear to have fallen temporarily out of favor for reasons that are considered non-recurring or short-term; or companies that are undervalued in relation to securities of other companies in the same industry. Invests in 'growth' stocks, 'value' stocks, or both. Invests in foreign and domestic issuers. |
